Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 November 2026 · Applies to the City Pocket iPhone and Android apps and its server.

This app shows public Singapore information — bus and train timings, parking, weather, hawker centres, CDC voucher merchants and more. It has no accounts, no advertising and no tracking. This page explains what little data it uses.

What stays on your phone

Your name (used only for the greeting), your saved places (only their rough location is shared, and only for alerts, as explained below), favourites, saved bus stops, journeys, timers and your daily reminders (including any medicine names and times) are stored only on your phone. They are not sent to our server. Deleting the app deletes them.

Your location

If you allow it, the app uses your location while it is open to find things near you. To do this it sends map coordinates (not your name or any account) to our server with each request, e.g. "carparks near 1.33, 103.74". We do not store your location history. Our hosting provider may keep standard technical request logs for a short time for security and troubleshooting. You can turn location off in your phone’s Settings and pick places manually instead.

Settings we keep

To send the alerts you switch on, the app sends our server a random device code plus your language, the profiles you picked (e.g. Commuter, Driver), which alerts you turned on and their options (including your daily summary time), and the push address Apple or Google gives the app for notifications. If you turn on notifications, it also sends the rough location of your home, work and saved places (rounded to about 100 m), the names of hawker centres you starred, the MRT lines of stations you starred, and your timed bus alerts (bus stop, bus numbers, time and walking minutes, never where your phone is), so we can tell you about rain, floods, closures, disruptions or when to leave. This contains no name, phone number or email. Turning notifications off, or deleting the app, stops this; ask us to delete what we hold at any time.

Anonymous counts. To improve the app, we keep daily totals such as how often each tab is opened, which bus stops or car parks are looked up most at each hour, roughly which 1 km areas the app is opened in each hour, how many alerts were sent and opened, and answers to quick questions like "Is this place still open?". These totals are not linked to your phone, name or any identifier, and we never store your movements. Daily active phones are counted with a code that is discarded at midnight. You can switch off sharing usage counts in Settings › About.

Feedback and reports

If you send feedback, report a parking rate or suggest a shop category, we store what you submit (your message and the item it is about) so we can review it. Please don't include personal details in feedback messages.

If you share how the jam is at the JB checkpoints, we keep your answer (checkpoint, direction, how bad, how long) for a few hours to show other drivers, with a scrambled code so one phone counts once. It is not linked to your name or account.

Flight deals open on Trip.com. What you do there is covered by Trip.com’s own privacy policy.

Where the information comes from

Public data from Singapore government sources including LTA DataMall, data.gov.sg (NEA, ACRA and others), URA and OneMap; CDC voucher merchant listings from the public GoWhere directory, checked against ACRA; food court and coffee shop locations from the brands’ own outlet lists and OpenStreetMap. We do not use Google Maps data. Opening "Directions" or "Maps" links hands you over to Apple Maps or Google Maps, whose own privacy policies apply.

Sharing

We do not sell or share your data with anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.

Your choices

You can stop location use at any time in your phone’s Settings, and delete the app to remove everything stored on your phone. To ask about, or have us delete, the settings or feedback linked to your device code, contact us below.
